A Visitation

A friend posted a story about a paranormal experience, and so I thought I'd tell one that I had last October. I had a dream that I was in a large, but crowded, elevator when I became aware of a stately woman standing to my left and slightly behind me. She had rather short but shining white hair, excellent bone structure, and erect posture. She was looking at me, and when I returned the glance, she asked, "Do you know who I am?" I struggled to place her, but before I could say anything, she said, "I'm Sally Isaacs." I was slightly miffed that she didn’t give me a moment longer to recognize her, a second cousin that I always liked. In the dream I reckoned that Sally must have gone gray, or platinum, since the last time I'd seen her, about twenty years ago. Two days later, word arrived from my brother in Chicago that Sally had died in a recent auto accident, perhaps the same day I had the dream. They think she blacked out at the wheel. I was touched that she'd thought to say farewell.

Richard.... did you know of Sally's health? Was that dream out of nowhere, and out of no knowledge of her for many years? Because if it was a jolt out of nowhere, then I am more likely to consider it some sort of cosmic magic -- E.S.P.

I like reading of such incidents because when I consider them to be viable (passing my criteria), then it takes me a little farther along to believing that there is something out there, something powerful, and ultimately, something kind, embracing, and welcoming.

My brother mentioned Sally's daughter to me once or twice in our weekly conversations, but Sally's name had not come up in a long time. Yes, I'd like to think there is some kind of "cosmic magic" too, but I resist the idea of basing a religious faith on miracles. It is "to the level of every day's most quiet need" that I'd hope to find God.

Was the elevator going up or down? Interesting that she had white hair in terms of her "blacking out" at the wheel....

Richard, you should check out a book called Extraordinary Knowing by Elizabeth Lloyd Mayer. I am a true believer in this phenomena.

Richard, I have had this type of premonitory dream state happen on four separate occassions - three times about family members and one time about a pet that was hospitalized. I am totally convinced we are all connected and it's just a matter of being open to the pathway that is presented. However, it is indeed a strange phenomenon when it occurs!
